We stayed at the All Star Movies Resort in September 2017. September is our favorite time of year to go to Disney World. The weather is perfect (if no hurricane interference).

We stayed in the Love Bug section. We were originally booked for another section but during check-in a very kind and helpful cast member told us about a section that had just been remodeled and offered us a room there. Now we have added a reminder in our notes to always ask for advice from the person checking us in.

Compare this article with our earlier visit to a similar resort at https://www.frictionfactor.com/hotels/pop-century-resort. Much of that information applies here, too, if you stay at a value resort. For this article I will point out the nice room improvements plus pointing out the service we received from cast members that made this visit even nicer than we expected.

We were primarily going to Florida for our son-in-law’s graduation. Our daughter and grandson had been visiting and returned to Florida with us. With magical help from Disney resort cast, we arranged to arrive early in the morning to spend a day with them at the resort (with a day pass). Our grandson enjoyed a ride on the Disney's Magical Express bus from the airport. Leaving our carry-on luggage at the resort, we took a Disney bus to the transportation center. From there we road the monorail and boats around Disney World. We even stopped to visit our favorite WDW resort, the Polynesian Village Resort and check off a trip bucket item with Disney’s pineapple Dole Whips. What a great (extra) day to enjoy!

Our remodeled room!

Compare this with the room in my earlier article about the Pop Century Resort which had the older style.

In the photos below, notice things like:

  • pull down bed

  • bed still comfortable and now raised to allow luggage storage

  • better heating/air system

  • larger TV

  • better fridge

  • better interior doors

  • more power outlets; USB power jacks, too

  • more light that doesn't use desk space

  • much better work table and desk area

  • shelf at top of headboard

  • more storage shelves and hanging knobs

  • carpet removed (and not missed)

Restroom area:

  • improved hardware

  • effortless, quiet sliding shower doors instead of shower curtain

  • nice shower head and still great water pressure

  • shampoo, conditioner, body wash built in

  • vanity light

  • an exhaust fan
